LAHORE: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore has intensified its crackdown against cheating during the ongoing matriculation examinations 2026. Controller of Examinations, Tauseef-ur-Rehman, visited several centres across different cities to monitor transparency during the English paper held on Monday.
According to Tahir Javed, spokesperson BISE Lahore, during inspections, four candidates were caught red-handed while cheating. The most significant action took place at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Lalyani (Kasur), where QR code scanning exposed four candidates attempting the exam with fake roll number slips. According to the Controller, a school teacher, allegedly issued these slips after taking bribes.
The group included three boys and one girl. Tauseef-ur-Rehman further stated that the Board will continue its zero-tolerance policy against the cheating mafia. He emphasised that indiscriminate action against malpractice will persist to ensure transparency in examinations in line with the vision of Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz and under the directions of Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat and Task Force Chairman Muzammil Mahmood.
