Action Recommended against School for Violating Winter Vacation Orders

TAXILA: The Attock District Education Authority (DEA) has taken serious notice of a violation of the Punjab government’s winter vacation orders and recommended strict action against a Punjab Education Foundation (PEF)-affiliated school in a village of Hassanabdal that was found operating during the officially announced holidays.

According to an official report submitted by the Deputy District Education Officer (Male-Elementary Education), Hassanabdal, an unannounced inspection was carried out on January 8, 2026, at Government Boys Primary School Bhui Garrh, an institution outsourced under the PEF framework. During the visit, the school was found open, with teachers and non-teaching staff present, while regular classes were being conducted and students were attending lessons.

The inspection report stated that the school continued academic activities despite clear directives issued by the School Education Department, Government of Punjab, announcing winter vacations across the province.

Education officials termed the violation a matter of serious concern, noting that calling young children to school during harsh winter conditions amounted to negligence and posed potential risks to students’ health and safety.

Taking strict notice of the breach, Chief Executive Officer Education Dr Muhammad Azhar recommended the cancellation of the school’s licence and forwarded the case to the Punjab Education Foundation for necessary action, with directions to ensure future compliance with government instructions.

The District Education Authority reiterated that no compromise would be made on the health

and wellbeing of children, warning that strict and indiscriminate action would be taken against any institution found violating official orders.
