Locals Nab Foreigners Trying to kidnap Nomadic Girls

1 min read

ISLAMABAD: Residents of the Golra Police Station’s suburban area near Chora Stop thrashed seven Chinese nationals who allegedly attempted to lure young nomadic girls with money and forcibly take them away on December 10.

Three of the Chinese nationals were apprehended by locals and handed over to the police, while four others managed to flee the scene.

Police sources said that a man named Muhammad Khan lodged a complaint with Golra PS stating that he and his family are impoverished nomads living in makeshift huts near Chora Stop.

He reported that Chinese nationals frequently enter their settlement, harass their girls and women, attempt to entice them with money, film videos, and try to forcibly take them along.

In the latest incident, the same group of seven Chinese nationals allegedly repeated this behaviour. When Muhammad Khan’s grandson, Sikandar, tried to stop them, the Chinese men allegedly began fighting and assaulting him.

In response, other nomadic residents of the huts intervened robustly and protected their women from the assailants. Four of the Chinese nationals fled, while three were detained by local residents and handed over to the Golra Police.

Seeking anonymity, a policeman associated with Golra Police Station told The Express Tribune that the police had formally arrested the three Chinese nationals and registered FIR No 581 against them.
