RAWALPINDI: A private school teacher in the Sadiqabad area allegedly broke a student’s arm for not bringing a book to class. Police registered a case and arrested the teacher.

According to the police, three children of the complainant study at the same private school. The victim, Ahmad Raza, a ninth-grade student, was given two guidebooks by his teacher.

Ahmad managed to find one from the market but could not find the other, which was reportedly out of stock.

During the first period, teacher Qari Tufail asked him to show the book. When Ahmad explained that it was unavailable in the market and would be purchased within a few days, the teacher began beating him with a stick, striking his arm repeatedly until it broke.

Upon returning home, the child showed his parents the injury.

He was taken to Benazir Bhutto Hospital, where an X-ray confirmed a fracture. Police later registered a case and launched an investigation.

A police spokesperson stated that the suspect had been arrested and a medical examination of the injured student was conducted. “Violence against children is completely unacceptable.

Children are the nation’s future, and it is our collective duty to protect them,” the spokesperson added.
