LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) dismissed the pre-arrest bail petition of a man charged with committing immoral acts with a girl child on October 3.
Justice Chaudhry Sultan Mahmood heard the bail plea of the suspect, Shehroz Ali, who appeared before the court along with his counsel.
Opposing the bail, a deputy district public prosecutor argued that a case had been registered against the suspect with Sanda Police Station. He said the six-year-old victim clearly identified the suspect in her statement recorded under Section 164 CrPC, stating that the suspect had misbehaved with her.
The prosecutor further informed the court that two separate investigations had been conducted in the case. He said the suspect was found guilty in both inquiries. He pointed out that the minimum imprisonment for the offense was 14 years, while the maximum was 25 years.
On the other hand, a defence counsel argued that the complainant and the suspect were relatives and had a property dispute. He alleged that the complainant had filed a false case to usurp the property.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the judge dismissed the bail petition and the police arrested the suspect from the court premises.
