Endemic sexual violence targeting young girls shows growing perversion and frustration in society.
In the latest disturbing incident, a five-year-old girl was murdered after being subjected to sexual abuse in Liaquatabad. The body of the girl, who went missing from Sikandar Goth, was found dumped in Gujjar Nullah on April 16. According to police, a missing report had been filed at Sachal police station a day earlier.
Police Surgeon Dr Samia Tariq confirmed that the postmortem examination revealed signs of sexual abuse. Forensic samples have been collected and sent for chemical analysis, with details expected upon receipt of the reports.
The girl’s father stated that his daughter’s body was discovered with her hands and feet tied. He expressed anguish over the delayed search efforts, claiming that timely action could have saved her life. The family, who deny any personal enmity, demanded the immediate arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators. Police have launched an investigation, reviewing CCTV footage from Sikandar Goth to identify suspects. The girl’s family and relatives blocked Abul Hassan Isphahani Road near Paradise Apartment in protest, causing traffic disruptions. They alleged that some of her body parts were missing.
Meanwhile, unverified reports suggest that CCTV footage shows a woman leading the child away. Police are verifying these claims and have assured the family of a thorough investigation.
