Parents Urged To Get Thier Children Vaccinated

PESHAWAR:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhary formally launched the seven-day anti-polio campaign by administering anti-polio drops to children at the Police Services Hospital in Peshawar.

Health Secretary Adil Shah, Peshawar Division Commissioner Riaz Mehsud, Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Salim Akram, and other officials were also present.

Talking to the media, the CS said that unfortunately, 18 polio cases have been reported in the province in 2024.

“Due to various reasons, many children miss out on protective vaccines, resulting in more cases. Among these reasons, one of the main problems is that some parents do not vaccinate their children against polio. He further said that along with door-to-door campaigns for the convenience of parents, the availability of anti-polio vaccine has been ensured in all hospitals.

He appealed to parents to fully cooperate with the polio teams during the seven-day campaign and fulfill their national duty to administer the vaccine to all children.
