Cleric arrested for torture of student

TOBA TEK SINGH: Jarawala police arrested on 22nd May 2024 a seminary teacher who allegedly tortured a 12-year-old student over failing to memorise lesson.

Complainant Attaur Rehman of Rashid Park locality alleged in FIR registered under section 328A of Pakistan Penal Code that Qari Ihsan severely beat his son Shafiq. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also took notice of the incident and sought a report from IG Police in this regard.

The CM directed to provide excellent treatment facilities to the student.

She directed that legal action should be taken after ascertaining the responsible for committing torture of the student.
