Call to upgrade school for differently-abled children

1 min read
Residents of Bannu district, including political and social activists, have asked the provincial government to upgrade the school for children with disability to high level.

Talking to reporters on 23rd Feb 2024, they said the population of differently-abled children was in the thousands but they lacked educational and other facilities.

They said the social welfare department had set up the school for children from Bannu, Lukki Marwat and North Waziristan districts, and keeping in view the increasing number of such children the institution should upgraded to high school level.

They also demanded provision of more vehicles to the school for providing pick and drop facility to children of distant areas.

The activists said differently-abled children fully deserved to get secondary education near their homes, and that the social welfare department should update the data and record of such children and ensure their enrolment in the school.
